Process Selecting Bridesmaids

One of the first things a newly engaged woman does is begin the process of selecting her bridesmaids. From calling her sisters and friends with the happy news, and then those who are closest to her, she will start asking select loved ones to be a part of her special day by being a bridesmaid. Different brides handle the selection of bridesmaids dresses in very different ways. On the complete opposite end is the bride who is more concerned about the people than their attire, and tells her bridesmaids to wear anything they want, as long as it falls within some general guidelines.

In reality, most brides are somewhere in between these two extremes. However, the process of selecting just the right dress for the bridesmaids can become challenging when you have multiple women of differing shapes, sizes, coloring and style trying to agree on a dress that will look good on all of them.

Each of the women is going to have her ideas about what color the dresses should be, or what style would be most flattering. It is not likely that you will have 100% agreement amongst the bridesmaids about any dress. The bride’s goal should be to make her bridesmaids feel like their input has been heard, without allowing the process to drift away from her desires regarding the look and feel of her wedding day. It is the ultimate in diplomacy if the bride can manage to make all of her bridesmaids happy with the dress that is chosen. However, brides who are looking to please everyone select couture dresses.
